The Senior Compensation and Benefits Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity and competitive quality of the organization’s Total Rewards programs. Provides technical and analytic support for the design, development, and implementation of compensation, benefits, and Wellness programs. Ensures that Total Rewards policies and procedures are properly documented, administered and delivered in a fair and consistent manner. Manages compensation and benefits data, utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to reconcile vendor billings, run reports, updates benefit data and year-end system updates. Audits compensation and benefits-related information to ensure accuracy. This position is regarded as a subject matter expert on Total Rewards and associated HRIS programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, analyze and recommend enhancements or changes to compensation and benefit programs based on market trends, company strategy, or changes in regulations.
Prepare reports for executive management review of compensation and benefit program changes.
Assesses market relevant compensation by participating in the planning, pricing, implementation, and administration of employee annual and off-cycle compensation reviews and increases, and salary structure updates.
Partner with recruiting to maintain and update job descriptions and recommends FLSA classification for new positions.
Research and identify current trends and regulatory/legislated requirements; and recommend enhancements or changes to Total Rewards programs.
Compiles, analyzes and reports benefit data for strategic planning, benchmarking, and survey participation. Implements design changes, enhancements, and/or new programs.
Lead the set-up of programs in HRIS, in partnership with IT. Problem solves vendor system data issues and workflow; and assist in identifying and implementing necessary changes.
Maintain and regularly audit benefit related documents, contracts, agreements and Summary Plan Descriptions for consistency and regulatory compliance.
Provide subject expertise to resolve compensation and benefit related issues; act as liaison between CHA employees, broker, and carriers/vendors.
Create, implement, and present communication/education programs to enhance member knowledge, appreciation, and effective use of benefits and understanding of compensation programs.
Participate proactively in annual Open Enrollment Process, including verifying, testing, and updating benefits in HRIS. Conduct new hire benefits orientation sessions and assist employees with benefits enrollment.
Remain current with applicable federal and state laws impacting Total Rewards programs. Act as an internal consultant to the human resource team and managers on compensation and benefit issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree BS/BA in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field with 5-8 years of professional human resource experience in compensation and benefits administration with progressive responsibilities. Professional certification such as CCP, CBP and CEBS or progress towards is required. HRIS system experience and implementation are required, preferably with Lawson.
Thorough knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint (creating charts, spreadsheets, pivot tables, benefit metrics, benefit formulae and presentation materials). Strong mathematical aptitude is required.
Strong organizational skills including effective documentation management and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines in a professional and positive manner.
