Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEAssists in the development, implementation, and administration of contemporary compensation programs, policies, procedures and processes. Provides compensation analysis, support, and consultative guidance, in collaboration with various stakeholders and members of Human Resources. Administers compensation programs. Participates in compensation initiatives, projects, presentations and trainings. Reports to the Director, Compensation.Conducts job analysis and evaluations. Prepares job descriptions. Completes compensation surveys. Performs market analysis. Identifies, evaluates and communicates qualitative and quantitative data trends to assist leaders in making data-driven decisions. Monitors federal, state and local compensation regulations. Audits pay practices to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and regulations and internal pay policies. Designs and authors compensation metrics, reports, and tools to inform compensation program decisions. Consults with employees, leaders and HR on the appropriate classification of positions, determination of compensation level and salary ranges, etc. Advises and assists in the application and interpretation of human resources policies, legal and union contract compliance.Administers annual pay administration programs. Maintains compensation systems and databases. Assists in the design of human capital management systems that provide leaders & HR team with requisite information regarding salary administration, market comparative data, internal equity analysis, etc. Provides analytical support for ad hoc research and compensation initiatives. Assists in the continuous improvement of compensation services and processes. Creates process documents. Recommends and implements compensation administration improvements to increase the effectiveness and competitiveness of our compensation strategy, processes and structures.Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degreeBachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 yearsAt least 3 - 5 years of compensation experience. Graduate-level or WorldatWork compensation courses may be substituted for experience. Additional HR or analysis experience with relevant compensation exposure may be considered. Preferred: union experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESIntellectual curiosity. Data literacy. Ability to articulate broadly and deeply about core areas of compensation administration and laws and regulations at a level consistent with three to five years of compensation experience. Ability to value all people, understand, and appreciate their unique experiences, styles, talents and perspectives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, and take on additional responsibility, in a fast-paced environment where change and transformation is expected. Demonstrated ability to structure, implement, and manage to successful completion simple to moderately complex compensation projects. Effective communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to manage many stakeholders and influence / drive decision-making. Strong writing skills, and detail orientation, with the ability to produce error-free documents. Advanced proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio with the ability to create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data.Preferred: Knowledge of hay job evaluation methodology is a plus
