Job Summary: Working under limited supervision, the Lead Compensation Analyst is charged with building and maintaining effective partnerships with University leaders, managers, and other staff (including within HR) to design, develop and administer staff compensation programs that support the University's research and education missions and ensure the enhancement of the organization's ability to recruit, engage and retain staff.
The Lead provides the gamut of broad-based compensation services for assigned client groups including salary administration, market pricing/job analysis and evaluation, while maintaining compliance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations. The Lead also manages projects, develops and conducts training, and participates in strategic planning activities. The Lead applies relevant experience and uses considerable judgment and discretion in working through and resolving issues with client partners. The Lead may direct the work of subordinate team members.
The position is based on the Evanston campus but requires occaisional travel to the Chicago campus. An inter-campus shuttle is available.
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired;
Minimum of eight years of professional experience in a similar role or in professional compensation related roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
Certification as a Compensation Professional (i.e. CCP Designation)
