Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEReporting to the Director, Compensation, the Senior Compensation Analyst will provide subject matter expertise in the development, improvement and administration of compensation programs. Provide compensation analysis and consulting services on contemporary compensation and reward practices. Conduct the most complex quantitative analysis and compensation assignments. Serve as a mentor to the compensation team, providing coaching and guidance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist the director in the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative compensation programs and practices that support the attraction and retention of top talent. Serve as a strategic partner in managing the needs assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of client solutions related to compensation and rewards. Identify root cause issues, formulate and implement recommendations to address key compensation issues that have great impact across the University.Recommend and implement new and improved ways to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of compensation operations. Research and analyze HR, compensation and higher education trends and provide education to HR and compensation employees. Assist in the design of management information systems that provide managers and HR team with requisite information regarding salary administration, market comparative data, internal equity analysis, etc.Prepare job descriptions. Consult with employees, managers and human resource professionals on the appropriate classification of positions, determination of compensation level and salary ranges, interpretation of compensation policies etc. Complete compensation surveys. Monitor federal, state and local compensation regulations. Audit pay practices to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and regulations and internal pay policies. Lead moderately complex compensation projects.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance Data, Economics or related fields. At least five years of contemporary compensation experience. An equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience may be accepted.Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification or the ability to become certified within one yearKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREDIntellectual curiosity. Data literacy. Ability to work hard and have fun. Professional communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of employees. Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative analysis. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform needs analysis and formulation of alternative recommendations and implementation strategies. Ability to create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data. Ability to work independently, and take on responsibility, in a fast-paced environment where change and transformation is expected. Advanced proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results within tight timelines. Knowledge of sound compensation principles and practices, state and federal laws and regulations. Knowledge of contemporary approaches to compensation.
